Specialty Archery Aperture Kits
Specialty Archery's Peep Sight Aperture Kits provide the archer with a selection of options for the diameter of their peep sight. The ability to utilize different size aperture diameters allows the archer to match the size of the peep sight picture to the size of the scope housing, assuring proper alignment during the aiming process. Larger size apertures can also help with troubled eyesight or low light conditions as more light is able to pass through the aperture.

Specialty Archery offers four aperture kits, including:

  • Complete Aperture Kit: Contains all 5 sizes (1/32", 3/64", 1/16", 3/32", 1/8")
  • Large Aperture Kit: Contains 3 largest sizes (1/16", 3/32", 1/8")
  • Middle Aperture Kit: Contains 3 middle sizes (3/64", 1/16", 3/32")
  • Small Aperture Kit: Contains 3 smallest sizes (1/32", 3/64", 1/16")
Each kit includes its associated sized apertures and a dual sized aperture wrench that fits all apertures sizes on one end or the other, all stored neatly in a foam fitted storage case.

For using the Specialty Apertures with their 1/4" diameter peep housing, they offer a Peep Reducer, which acts as a bushing within the larger peep housing to allow any of the smaller peep apertures to be installed securely. Note that this peep reducer will not fit Specialty's standard sized or 5/16" XL peep housings. Selecting Aperture Sizes
Specialty offers the following recommendations for selecting aperture sizes:

  • Specialty Archery recommends selecting an aperture size that will fit tightly around the scope housing when looking through the peep at the scope while at full draw. If you are using too large of an aperture, accuracy may suffer due to improper alignment of the scope and peep. If you are using too small an aperture, you may lose some field of view of the scope lens. Using a small aperture will also restrict the amount of light, making for a dim sight picture.
  • For a 1 3/8” Specialty True Spot Target or Versa scope, try the 1/32”, 3/64”, or 1/16” aperture.
  • For the Specialty 1 5/8” or their Pro Series scope, try the 3/64”, 1/16”, or 3/32” aperture.
  • For the Specialty Super D, Pro Series XL, True Spot 3D or Versa Scope 3D, use the 3/32” or 1/8” apertures. Note that for these larger scope housings, you may want to consider using Specialty's 1/4" or 5/16" XL peep housings to better match the larger scope diameter.
  • For hunting, Specialty recommends our 1/4” or 5/16″ peeps, due to the increased light transmission.
